Furuise Europe attended the conference tour “LNG: Best Fuel of the Future” focused in business and new opportunities for the development of LNG sector. It took place in Bergen (Norway) from April 10th to 12th onboard Fjord Line’s LNG powered ferry M/S Stavangerfjord.
The objective of the conference was to promote the LNG as fuel specially focused on shipping use and its bunkering systems. The conference and study tour welcomed almost 100 participants and 22 speakers from 19 countries from Europe and beyond. The event offered a great opportunity to know about the experience of LNG as fuel for northern Europe companies wich are leading the objective of NOx reduction as per coming regulations. The event wasn’t just about the speeches and presentations. It offered great networking opportunities with several meetings held onboard.
Also technical experiences were provided by the event organisers:
- Live LNG Bunkering of M/S Stavangerfjord was overseen by the conference participants. A pipe to ship LNG bunkering was performed at Risavika LNG terminal in Stavanger, Norway.
- Guided tour gave an exciting experience of visiting the engine control room and the LNG propelled engines of the ferry.
The conference and study tour was organized within the framework of the Go LNG project, which is focused on the development of demand and accessibility of LNG in the Baltic Region. The project activities are looking at the development of LNG infrastructure and promote its usage in the transport industry.
